Gleeson specializes in meat processing plants. Gleeson has just completed state of the art livestock, front end kill, evisceration, carcass cooler, break, and rendering for Hormel Foods in Fremont, Nebraska. Gleeson specializes in clean room design concepts. Gleeson has just completed two state of the art clean rooms for Advance Foods and Hormel Foods.

Gleeson has completed more cook plants than anyone in the industry. The cook plant list includes: Advance Brands, Hormel Foods microwave bacon facility, ConAgra Foods’ sausage plant,  Tony Downs Foods bacon facility, IBP ham plant, two Hormel Foods ham plants, OSIs bacon and sausage plant, Seaboard Foods cooked poultry plant and two major Swift Eckrich cook deli plants, Concordia Foods, three Schwans pizza lines, Continental Deli, Quality Sausage. The cook plants have extreme sanitation problems. Temperature requirements and bacteria control requirements make them some of the most challenging projects to design and build. We incorporate the 11 AMI Design principles for food safety in our design. 

Gleeson is currently constructing a 100,000sf automated high rise with 1,000 tons of CO₂ refrigeration for JBS USA, L.L.C. We have completed a major freezer distribution center for Iowa Cold Storage, Advance Foods, a 12,000 pallet high rise for BPI and a 35,000 pallet high rise for Wells Dairy. We have constructed two shipping freezers for Seaboard Foods and Hormel Foods.

Gleeson’s engineers were selected to give the Clean Room Design Seminars at packaging and processing shows.

Gleeson’s engineers obtained LEED Gold certification for Hormel’s 340,000sf Progressive Processing plant in Dubuque, Iowa.

The majority of Gleeson’s design is done in-house. The civil, structural and mechanical will all be done in-house. This improves the communication flow and turn-around time of drawings. In-house design allows us to review cost parameters as we design to give the owner the most value for the dollars expended.

Gleeson self performs the following work: dirt excavation, concrete, steel erection, insulated panel erection, doors and millwright services. This helps Gleeson and the owner to control the schedule and lower job cost by self performing work.
